ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard for quality management and the certification most frequently asked for in vendor registration, government and PSU tenders and customer audits. It requires an organisation to understand its customers and context, control its processes, manage risk, measure performance and improve. We implement it in a way that fits your size, because a 20-person workshop should not end up with a 200-page manual, and take you through to an accredited certificate.
Legal basis: ISO 9001:2015 (voluntary international standard). Routinely specified as a qualification criterion in public procurement under the General Financial Rules, 2017, in PSU and OEM vendor registration and in defence, railway and infrastructure tenders
Who needs it
- Manufacturers, fabricators and job-workers registering as vendors with OEMs, PSUs, railways, defence or large EPC companies
- Companies bidding for government and PSU tenders that list ISO 9001 as an eligibility condition
- Exporters whose overseas buyers require a certified quality system before placing orders
- Service businesses such as IT, logistics, facility management, labs, hospitals and education that want a recognised quality mark
- Start-ups and MSMEs building processes for scale, or seeking the credibility of certification with lenders and investors
- Companies with lapsed, non-accredited or soon-to-expire certificates that need recertification

How we get it done
- 1
Scoping and certification body quotes
Day 1–5We fix the scope, sites and exclusions, and obtain quotes from two or three accredited certification bodies so the full cost is known up front.
- 2
Gap analysis
Day 3–10Each process is reviewed against the ten clauses of ISO 9001:2015 and the gaps are turned into a dated action plan with owners.
- 3
Documentation
Day 10–30Quality policy, objectives, process maps, procedures, work instructions and formats are written to match how your business actually runs, no heavier than needed.
- 4
Implementation and internal audit
Day 25–40Staff are trained, records are generated, and our auditor conducts the internal audit and management review that the certification body must see.
- 5
Certification audit
Day 35–55We attend the Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits, close any findings and deliver the accredited ISO 9001 certificate with surveillance dates in your calendar.
If you skip certification
There is no statutory penalty for operating without ISO 9001, but the commercial cost is immediate: vendor registrations are rejected, tender bids are disqualified at the technical evaluation stage and customer audits fail on the absence of controlled processes and records. Certificates from unaccredited bodies are increasingly screened out via the IAF CertSearch database, and a company whose certificate is suspended for missed surveillance audits must disclose that to customers who rely on it.

Frequently asked questions
How much does ISO 9001 certification cost in total?
Two components: our implementation fee, which starts at the figure shown and depends on size and complexity, and the certification body's fee, typically ₹25,000 to ₹60,000 for a small organisation over the three-year cycle including surveillance, scaling with employee numbers and sites. We obtain quotes from two or three accredited bodies so you can compare.
How quickly can we be certified?
A small organisation with management commitment can be audited within 4 to 6 weeks of starting, and the certificate typically follows within two weeks of a clean Stage 2 audit. Anyone promising a certificate in three days is selling a non-accredited document.
Do we need a full-time quality manager?
No. The 2015 version dropped the mandatory management representative. Responsibilities can sit with existing managers; we train them and keep the documentation proportionate to your size.
Can we get 9001 together with 14001 and 45001?
Yes. The three standards share the same structure, and an integrated management system certified in one combined audit is the most economical route for manufacturers and contractors who need all three.
Is the certificate valid internationally?
An accredited certificate carries the accreditation body's mark, for example NABCB, and is recognised in all IAF member economies. Any buyer can verify it on the IAF CertSearch database.
