Audits & Advisory

Compliance is not a one-time event. Our audits find the gaps before the regulator does, and our retainer keeps every consent, return and renewal on schedule so your team can focus on operations.

Environmental Audit & Form V Statement

An environmental audit checks how your plant actually performs against its consent conditions, the Environment (Protection) Rules and the waste rules — pollution loads, monitoring, record-keeping, waste manifests and statutory returns. We audit the site, benchmark against the law and your consents, and produce a prioritised action plan plus the annual Environmental Statement in Form V that every consented unit must file by 30 September.

EHS Legal Compliance Audit

Environment, health and safety obligations in India are spread across central acts, state rules, consent conditions and licences from several regulators. Our EHS compliance audit builds a complete legal register for your operations, verifies compliance for each requirement through documents and site inspection, and gives management a scored dashboard with corrective actions — the same lens a buyer, lender or regulator would apply.

Environmental Due Diligence (M&A and Lending)

Acquiring a plant, a company or a land parcel means acquiring its environmental history: contaminated soil, lapsed consents, pending NGT matters, hazardous waste legacies and EPR arrears all follow the asset. Our environmental due diligence combines a Phase I site assessment, regulatory compliance review and liability estimation into a report that investors, lenders and acquirers can use to price the deal, structure indemnities and set post-closing conditions.

From ₹90,000

Industrial Water Audit

Water is now a regulated, priced and reputational resource for Indian industry. CGWA guidelines require larger groundwater users to conduct annual water audits and reduce consumption, SPCBs push zero liquid discharge and reuse, and BRSR demands water-footprint disclosure. Our water audit maps your complete water balance from intake to discharge, identifies losses and reuse opportunities, and delivers a conservation plan that satisfies regulators and lowers cost.

Energy Audit (BEE Accredited)

An energy audit is the most reliable way to cut operating cost and emissions at the same time, and for Designated Consumers under the Energy Conservation Act it is a statutory obligation. We carry out detailed energy audits through BEE-accredited energy auditors, benchmark your specific energy consumption, and deliver a costed list of energy conservation measures with the documentation needed for PAT compliance, BRSR energy KPIs and your carbon footprint.

Environmental Compliance Retainer

Environmental compliance is a calendar of obligations that never stops: consent renewals, Form V, hazardous waste returns, EPR filings, EC compliance reports, groundwater reporting, monitoring and inspections. Our retainer gives you a dedicated compliance manager, a live obligation register with reminders, preparation and filing of every return, representation during inspections and advisory support on new rules — at a predictable monthly fee instead of crisis-driven consulting.

From ₹15,000

Common questions

Audits & Advisory, explained

Is an environmental audit mandatory in India?

The annual Environmental Statement in Form V under Rule 14 of the EP Rules, 1986 is mandatory for every unit that needs consent under the Water or Air Act or authorization under the hazardous waste rules. A full third-party audit is not itself mandated by central law (some states, such as Gujarat, have scheme-based mandatory audits for certain categories), but it is the only reliable way to populate Form V accurately and to prepare for inspections.

How is an EHS compliance audit different from an environmental audit?

An environmental audit focuses on pollution-control performance and the Form V statement. An EHS compliance audit is wider: it covers environment, occupational health and safety, hazardous chemicals, fire and statutory licences across all regulators, and it is organised around a legal register so that nothing applicable is missed. Many clients do both — the environmental audit annually and the EHS audit before renewals, transactions or customer audits.

What is the difference between Phase I and Phase II assessments?

A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment is a non-intrusive review of records, interviews and site inspection to identify recognised environmental conditions — potential contamination or liabilities. A Phase II involves intrusive investigation such as soil borings, groundwater monitoring wells and laboratory analysis to confirm whether contamination exists and estimate its extent and remediation cost. Phase II is triggered only where Phase I finds credible indications.

Who is required to conduct a water audit under the CGWA guidelines?

The 2020 guidelines require industries, infrastructure and mining projects abstracting groundwater above specified daily quantities (which vary with the stress category of the assessment unit) to conduct annual water audits through auditors certified by recognised bodies such as CII, FICCI or NPC, submit the reports and reduce groundwater use by the stipulated percentage within a set period. We confirm the exact thresholds and obligations applicable to your NOC.

Who is a Designated Consumer?

The Central Government notifies energy-intensive industries and establishments as Designated Consumers under the Energy Conservation Act based on annual energy consumption thresholds for each sector — for example, specified tonnes of oil equivalent per year for cement, steel, textiles, pulp and paper, and connected load thresholds for commercial buildings. Designated Consumers must appoint a certified energy manager, conduct mandatory energy audits through accredited auditors, file annual returns and meet PAT targets.

What is included in the monthly retainer fee?

The base retainer covers the obligation register and calendar, preparation and filing of all routine returns and reports (Form V, hazardous waste returns, EPR filings, EC compliance reports and similar), coordination of monitoring, inspection support and unlimited advisory calls on compliance questions. New applications such as consent renewals, EPR registrations or amendments are quoted separately at preferential rates, and government fees are always extra.
